| Pretty much what each of us is thinking when we row together. |
Since Fall Speed Order ergo testing, going 20:07 and posting a PR for me by 10 seconds... two other members of the Malta LM4x training group have DESTROYED my score. Last Thursday Andy Quinn, our stroke from last summer, sat down and went a cool 19:59, cracking the 20:00 mark. Just tonight, Colin Ethridge (3 seat from last summer) set up the monitor for 6k and threw down 19:45.7 , a tie for the 2nd fastest lightweight men's score in the country right now. We set the bar high for ourselves, and with teammates like this finding the motivation to improve is a rather simple equation. Our training is going well, we've only just gotten started. Our coach Chris McElroy is steering us in a great direction, and we've got a few more opportunities to row the quad before we're off the river for a bit. Then again, it could just be another mild Philly Winter and we could bundle up and get out there! Looking forward to the Winter Of Suffering.
Cheering Colin on for the last 500m of his piece, I looked away from my own monitor while doing 3x30' steady. When I looked back I was 10 splits too fast, oops!
